Trip Reconnaissance

On this golf sabbatical, we will be playing all three 18-hole golf courses at Sand Valley Golf Resort, plus The Lido, a private golf club that is owned and managed by Dream Golf, owners and managers of Sand Valley and Bandon Dunes. Each golf course is rated amongst the best in America and is built by the most highly-acclaimed architects in modern golf design.

The Rally in the Valley

The trip's tournament will consist of 4-person teams, competing against one another in a battle to determine which quadfecta of golfers reigns supreme. Each day will have a slightly different format, but every golf will be playing their own ball throughout each round. Daily formats are as follows:

Round 1 at The Lido - High/Low: Each team will count the single best and worst net score on each hole, totaling two 18-hole score equivilants.

Round 2 at Sand Valley - Two-Low: Each team will count the two worst net scores for each hole

Round 3 at Mammoth Dunes - Two-High: Each team will count the two best net scores for each hole.

The team with the lowest combined stroke total for rounds 1-3 will be named the Rally in the Valley Champions.

Suave will also be organizing a skins game that's optional for all.

Sabbatical-goers are free to play any games they want with their groups and fellow golfing comrades.

Replays

All event participants are welcome and encouraged to replay one of Sand Valley's world-class golf courses. Replays are not included with this trip, but all guests may pay for replay rounds in the golf shop at the time of check-in or may charge replay greens fees to their room.

Replay rates are TBD, but Suave expects the rate to be $115-$150 when Sand Valley releases their 2024 rates.

Lodging

Lodging at Sand Valley is included with this sabbatical. Accommodations for this sabbatical will be at The Lodge.

Walking Only at Sand Valley

Sand Valley is a walking only golf facility. Carts are not available for guests unless they have a permanent disability and provide supporting medical documents prior to arrival.

Caddie Services

Caddies are recommended, but not required. Suave guests can select which rounds, if any, they'd like to utilize a caddie on the registration form sent to participants after registration.

Caddie fees are to be paid by guests directly to the caddie at the conclusion of each round. The caddie fee is $100 per bag, per round, plus gratuity.

Weather

Many employees at Sand Valley will tell you that early October features the best weather of the year at Sand Valley, with cooler temperatures and less humidity than summer. That being said, October in Wisconsin has the potential to be cold at night and rain occasionally.

We share all this to remind all our attendees to prepare for all possible weather outcomes, as this golf sabbatical will be taking place rain or shine. In addition to whatever you'd normally bring to a 4-day golf trip, Suave encourages all Rally in the Valley participants to strongly consider bringing the following items:

  • Multiple pairs of golf shoes
  • Rain jacket & rain pants
  • Rain gloves
  • Long underwear
  • Comfortable socks (bring 3 more pairs that you think)

Cancellation Policy / Refunds

Event registration will close on June 15th, 2024 at 5pm PST. All cancellations before 6/15/24 will be refunded, minus a $100 registration fee.

After June 15, 2024, reservations become guaranteed and no refunds can be issued for cancellations.

In the event that the Rally in the Valley sells out, Suave will create a waitlist for trip hopefuls. If a registrant cancels after the June 15 deadline, they may receive a refund if/when someone from the waitlist formally registers.
