Barefoot Golf Waiver
While intoxicating and revelatory, playing golf barefoot is not without its risks. Stepping on a stick, rolling your ankle, or any number of other injuries may arise as a result of your feet becoming one with brother nature. To that end, all BFC participants are required to sign a waiver prior to the start of the tournament, releasing Suave Golf and Northwood GC of any liability related to the BFC.
While we encourage every BFC contestant to enjoy all 9 holes in their bare feet, playing barefoot is not required. Any contestant may wear sandals, flip flops, shoes or any other footwear for any/all of their round. Please also be mindful that footwear is required in all communal spaces at Northwood (golf shop, restaurant/bar, parking lot, etc.).
Tournament Format
2-Player Net Scramble - Team handicaps will be calculated by taking 35% of the lower (more skilled) player's handicap and 15% of the higher players handicap, and adding them together. Once that number is calculated, we'll divide that number in half to get each team's 9-hole handicap.
Example: Player A is a 10 handicap, Player B is a 20 handicap.
- 10 (Player A's handicap) x 35% = 3.5
- 20 (Player B's handicap) x 15% = 3
- 3.5 + 3 = 6.5 would be this team's 18-hole scramble handicap
- 6.5 / 2 = 3.25 (rounds down) = This team's BFC handicap would be 3
Additional BFC Tournament Notes
